3D-survey of architecture and of historical urban landscapes

3D-laser scanners based on "time of flight" allow to acquire high quality morphological data and 3D data bases in architectural and urban fields. These data can be used as geometric memory archive of architecture, for research, conservation and restoration, as well to study urban contexts. A few examples where 3D-data have been successfully used: the Coliseum, Caracalla Baths, the archeological site in Pompeji, the Arena in Verona, Michelangelo's architecture in Florence...
