We display a fast fringe projection system for medical applications which can measure the 3D shape and record the texture of human faces. With a patented mirror setup we measure a face from ear to ear. Including the 2D colour information the data are acquired in 0,8 sec. A special algorithm calculates one single triangular mesh onto which the texture data is mapped with sub-pixel accuracy. The measurement uncertainty of the 3D data is about 200 microns, within a field of about 500 mm. A first application is surgical operation planning. In the second application we measure the all around shape of a baby's head in 1,35sec. The data is used to manufacture a helmet which helps to correct asymmetries in the baby's cranium ('helmet therapy'). With this process no plaster cast is required to get the cranial shape.
