Common RCWA models always assume constant permeability in the calculations. This limitation prevents an accurate simulation of structured magnetic materials and the exploration of new effects in meta-materials and negative-index materials. With the new, modified version of the standard RCWA approach, we want to introduce a model, that is general enough to correctly handle structured negative index materials and materials, where the magnetic permeability varies in the spatial domain. We also would like to show some examples of our calculations.
