Smart optical solutions based on microstructured optics

Microstructured optical components enable the design of optical systems with unprecedented performance and design freedom, unreachable using conventional optics. Miniaturization and new functionalities based on refractive and diffractive micro-optical components result in novel optical elements. Those technologies allow the development of a variety of disruptive applications towards e.g. smart lighting, augmented reality, automotive or sensor solutions. The author will give an overview of brand new results related to smart optical solutions based on the Carl Zeiss Jena Microstructured Technology Platform.
