Special requirements to the optics of stereo microscopes for fluorescens applications
- Carl Zeiss AG
The main criterions of quality of any stereo microscope are the correction of lateral chromatic aberrations and the amount of so called \"globe effect\". In the field of fluorescens applications the requirements to lateral color are much higher. Because of multi channel fluorescens and camera applications any change of focus position is impossible. Other important features are the possibility of changing the illumination intensity and the illuminated area. In order to meet these requirements there is the need of special lenses and special optical solutions, which are different to the usual equipment of stereo microscopes.
